Moving tunnel
The first strawberries of the season can be grown in high tunnels (without supplementary heating). The plants are planted in ridges in the soil and on cold nights benefit from the protective warmth given off by the soil. When the sun comes out, the tunnel warms up.
Strawberry plants grown under cover are also protected against hail and heavy rain. The tunnels must be ventilated regularly.
